This edition exists because yesterday’s was wrong within a day, and that is worth explaining before the sales. On August 30 we published Ann Taylor at an extra 70% off sale styles. Re-reading the same banner this morning, it is at an extra 50% — the 70% ran from August 28 to August 30 and is gone. We also wrote that Loft published no end date. It does: its banner reads “Ends Mon, August 31”, which we simply missed, and that offer dies tonight. And the Nordstrom Rack piece we quoted at $17.98–$19.18 with 90% off the tag is not on the page today; the deepest tag we can read now is 87%. Yesterday’s edition stays online with a correction on it rather than a quiet rewrite, because a page that edits its own past is worth less to you than one that admits it moved. The lesson is the same one we wrote about a badge last week, turned on ourselves: there is a difference between having read something and having read it today, and a markdown banner can change between a Sunday and a Monday. So everything below was opened again this morning, and only what we could read in a browser in US dollars is here. The one thing with a real clock on it is Loft, and the clock is the store’s own, not ours. Ann Taylor is still worth a look at the lower number. Nordstrom Rack, Everlane and Athleta are unchanged in substance. None of these links earn us anything.

The only pick on this page with a published deadline, and it is the store’s own words rather than our inference — we missed it yesterday and it is the reason this edition exists. An extra 60% on top of an already-marked price is the deepest thing running across these five once Ann Taylor stepped down, so if anything here was going to get your attention today, it is this. The extra 22% off $100+ in the same banner is a separate offer and these normally do not stack, so decide which one pays you more before you fill the bag. Ignore the fine print further down that page: it is a leftover 2023 template mentioning a code called TREAT and dates in January, and it has nothing to do with what is running.

Our take
Down from the extra 70% we published yesterday, which turns out to have been a three-day promotion running August 28 to 30. We are leaving the pick in at the honest number rather than dropping it, because an extra 50% on top of a markdown is still a real cut and because quietly deleting it would hide that we got it wrong. What this does show is how fast this particular banner moves: three different numbers in four days. If you were waiting on the 70%, it is not coming back this week. Final sale still applies, so buy the size you already own — the ponte, the blouses, the ankle pants are where this brand runs deepest.

The specific Adornia set we quoted at $17.98–$19.18 with 90% off is not on the page today, and the deepest tag now reads 87%. What we could read this morning: an Adornia initial pendant layered chain necklace at $16.23–$19.98, up to 82% off, and a mother-of-pearl clover bangle at $19.98, 75% off. The page serves a rotating subset on every load, so treat any single item we name as an example of the depth rather than a promise it will be there. Still no event badge applied to any product, which is what we corrected last week and what remains true today. Nothing expires here, which also means waiting buys you nothing but a worse size run.

Re-read this morning and unchanged, which is the whole character of this brand: Everlane does not run flash events, so its sale rail is a floor rather than a step toward something better next month. On a page where two picks moved overnight, the one that does not move is worth something on its own. The value sits in the basics — the tees, the denim, the ballet flats — below where they normally bottom out. The 20% and 15% offers you will see are email sign-up nudges on full-price stock, not this.

Our take
Re-read this morning at the same number. Priced as marked is what earns it a place on a page where two of the picks need arithmetic and one of them changed overnight: here the tag is the price, with no code to mistype and no bag to check. Most of the section sits nearer 30–40%, so sort by discount if you want the deep end rather than trusting the headline. Athleta clears its own current seasons rather than dumping only leftovers, which is why colours still sold at full price turn up in here.
