Steals of the week — September 22, 2026
September 22, 2026
An unusually well-dated week, which is the best thing that can happen to a page like this: seven of the eight sales below print an end date in the store’s own terms, so nothing here rests on “limited time”. Three things ended since our last edition and are gone from this page. Nordstrom Rack’s extra 40% off clearance — the sale we led with on September 16 — has quietly stopped: the banner is off the clearance page and not one of the 6,711 items we read still carried the extra-40% label, so it goes, and no, the store never announced an end date to break. Ann Taylor’s and Lane Bryant’s Thursday deadlines passed exactly as printed, and both stores have opened new offers that are on this page instead. Loft is the cautionary tale of the week: its homepage still shouts “50% off everything + extra 20% off”, while its own offer panel says those two ended on September 20 and 21. A banner is marketing; the offer panel is the contract. We go with the panel, and Loft is out. Two stores we could not reach at all today, Boden and Everlane — the connection failed outright rather than serving us a blocked page — so neither appears below; we do not carry a price forward from last week on the assumption it held. Everything else was read today on the store’s own page. Four of these end on Sunday or Monday. None of these links earn us anything.
Ends Wednesday, September 23
50% off markdowns
Flash sale — 50% off markdowns
Chico’s banner reads “Flash Sale: 50% Off Markdowns” and “Today, Online Only”, while the offer’s own fine print reads “Offer valid 09/21/2026 - 09/23/2026”. Online only, no code named on the banner
Our take
The deepest cut of the week, and the one place where we have to show you our working.

The banner says today only. The terms behind it say the offer runs September 21 to 23. Those cannot both be true, and we are not going to pick the flattering one: shop it as if it ends tonight, and treat Wednesday as a bonus if the page still shows it. Fifty per cent off markdowns — not off full price, off the already-reduced rail — is a much bigger number than the extra 25% Chico’s was running last week, and it is online only, so there is no point driving to a boutique for it. The travel knits and the wide-leg trousers are where this brand is worth buying; the “styles starting at $39” banner beside it is a different, shallower offer.
Ends Sunday, September 27
Extra 50% off
Extra 50% off sale styles
Extra 50% off sale styles, no code required. Ann Taylor’s offer panel reads “Ends Monday, September 28, 2:59 AM ET” — in practice, Sunday night. Also running: 30% off tops & sweaters to the same deadline, and steals starting at $20 ending Friday, September 25
Our take
The same extra 50% we published last week, now with a longer clock on it: the offer panel has moved its deadline from Thursday to the small hours of Monday the 28th, which means Sunday night is the real cut-off.

That is a full weekend to think, which is rare for this retailer — we have watched its sale number change three times in a fortnight. Two useful companions on the same banner. The 30% off tops and sweaters runs to the same deadline and applies to full-price knitwear, so it is the one to use for autumn pieces rather than summer leftovers. The “steals starting at $20” rail ends earlier, on Friday. As always here, this is an extra on top of a marked-down price, so the only number that counts is the one in the bag.
30% off full price
30% off your full-price purchase
30% off your full-price purchase. The offer’s own terms read “valid 9/21/2026 – 9/27/2026”. Separately, up to 50% off sale styles
Our take
New to this page, and it does a job nothing else here does: 30% off full-price stock, which means the autumn arrivals rather than what is left of summer.

White House Black Market sells the going-out and the office-dressy end of this market — the black trousers, the blazers, the occasion dresses — and those almost never sit in a sale section while they are still in season. A week ago this store’s whole banner expired the same day we read it, which is why it did not make the last edition; this time the terms give it until Sunday the 27th. The up-to-50% sale rail beside it is the usual markdown pile and will not combine with the 30%, so work out which side of the store you are shopping before you fill the bag.
Ends Monday, September 28
Extra 40% off
Extra 40% off clearance
Extra 40% off clearance. Lane Bryant’s terms read “Valid in Lane Bryant stores and at lanebryant.com 9/16/2026 - 9/28/2026 (until 11:59 p.m. PT online)”. Running to the same date: buy-one-get-one 50% off clothing, accessories, sleep and bras, valid 9/21/2026 - 9/28/2026, and 50% off doorbuster shoes
Our take
Last week Lane Bryant’s 40% was on the main clothing line and ended Thursday.

This week the 40% has moved to clearance, which is deeper stock, and it runs until the 28th — the longest deadline on this page that is not J.Jill. Worth understanding the split before you shop, because Lane Bryant is running three offers with the same end date and they do not stack. The extra 40% is for clearance. The buy-one-get-one 50% is for full-price clothing, accessories, sleep and bras. The doorbuster shoes are their own thing at 50%. The BOGO is the better arithmetic only if you were buying two pieces anyway; for one piece, clearance at an extra 40% wins easily. Everything here closes at 11:59 PM Pacific, which is three hours of grace over the East Coast deadlines elsewhere on this page.
40–70% off
Women’s sale 40–70% off sitewide
Gap Factory’s own banner reads “Womens Sale 40–70% Off Sitewide”, with “Cardmember Exclusive: Extra 15% Off Code GFCARD | Not a Cardmember? Extra 10% Off” and “Ends 9/28. Exclusions apply”. A separate limited-time deal takes 50% off denim
Our take
Better than the “up to 75% off” headline we published last week, and not because the number is bigger — it is smaller.

It is a range with a floor: 40 to 70 per cent, which tells you the shallow end of the rail is still 40% off, where “up to 75%” told you only about the single best item in the store. It also has an end date now, the 28th. The extra 10% for everyone else is automatic on the banner’s reading; the 15% needs the card and the code GFCARD, which we did not test. The 50% off denim running alongside is the pick inside the pick — Gap Factory jeans at half off are the cheapest credible denim on this page. Exclusions apply, and at this store they usually mean the licensed and clearance-tagged stock.
Ends Wednesday, November 18
Extra 30% off
Extra 30% off all sale styles
Extra 30% off all sale styles, taken at the time of purchase with no code. J.Jill’s own fine print still reads “Offer valid 9/8/26 - 11/18/26 on sale-priced merchandise only”
Our take
Unchanged for the third week, and that is the whole reason to keep printing it: while everything above moves on a weekly clock, this one is dated to November 18 in the store’s own disclaimer.

It is the page’s slow lane. Nothing about the discount will improve by waiting, and nothing will expire either — what runs out here is the size run, not the offer. If you circled something in J.Jill’s sale in September and talked yourself out of it, it is still there at the same terms, and probably in fewer sizes.
No end date published — take your time
40% + 30% off
40% off one item, 30% off everything else with FALL40
Talbots’ own banner reads “40% off 1 + 30% off everything else, code FALL40”, alongside “30% off your ENTIRE PURCHASE” and “30% off includes all markdowns!”. No end date published on the banner; the terms behind the details link did not load for us
Our take
Talbots calls this a customer appreciation event, and the structure is the interesting part: one item at 40% off and everything else at 30%, with the code FALL40 doing the work.
Read the rest →Show less ↑
That rewards the opposite behaviour to most of this page — put the most expensive thing you want first, because the 40% lands on one item and you want it on the blazer, not on the tee. The banner also says the 30% includes markdowns, which is unusual; most stores fence their codes off from already-reduced stock. Our standard limit applies to the code: we read FALL40 on Talbots’ own banner today and did not test it in a cart, so it is verified to exist, not verified to work on what you picked. No end date is published, and the detail terms behind the banner would not load for us, so we cannot give you one.
Extra 50% off
Extra 50% off all sale with code EQFALL
ELOQUII’s own banner reads “EXTRA 50% Off All Sale* - code: EQFALL” and “50% Off Select Styles* - code: EQFALL”. A separate final-sale section is marked up to 85% off. No end date published
Our take
The code changed since last week — EQMAJOR is gone, EQFALL has replaced it — and so did what it covers.
Read the rest →Show less ↑
Last week it was an extra 60% off clearance only; this week it is an extra 50% across all sale, plus 50% off a selected full-price group, both under the same code. Shallower on the clearance rail, wider everywhere else. For sizes 14 to 32 this remains the deepest code we can find week after week, which is why it keeps its place. Same limit as always: read on ELOQUII’s own site today, not tested in a cart. No end date is published, so treat it as live until the banner changes, which at this store is roughly weekly.
