Steals of the week — August 23, 2026

August 23, 2026

Five sales this week, and for the first time every one of them was opened, loaded and read in a real browser before it earned its place — the price on the page had to match the price we claim, or the pick did not run. That is why the list is shorter than last week: Talbots and LOFT both threw up an "are you a human" wall we would not click through on your behalf, and Madewell, J.Crew, Anthropologie and Abercrombie refused to serve us at all, so none of them are here. What is here held up: Nordstrom Rack’s clearance is still the deepest thing going, Reformation’s 50% has not moved while its rail keeps thinning, J.Jill’s standing summer offer runs a bit longer, and Athleta’s markdowns are priced as marked with no code to mistype. Every pick below is code-free — the discount is on the tag or it is nothing. None of these links earn us anything.

Extra 40% off

Extra 40% off all sale styles

Extra 40% off all sale styles, stacked on already-reduced prices with no code. J.Jill’s own fine print reads “valid 5/28/26 – 9/7/26 on sale-priced merchandise”

Our take

The standing summer offer that has quietly run since May. An extra cut on top of sale prices is a different animal from a percentage off list, so judge it at the bag, not the product page. No urgency to it: it runs a fortnight yet, and the linen is what it is best at.

Nordstrom Rack

Up to 90% off

Clearance — the deepest tags on this page

Clearance section, refreshed daily, with individual pieces marked as much as 90% off. No code

Our take

Unlike a percentage-off event this is the number printed on the tag, so there is nothing to stack or mistype — the trade is picking through a section this large. Filter to 70% off or more and you halve the pile without giving up anything worth having. The next thing worth waiting for is a Clear the Rack event over Labor Day weekend, which would put an extra cut on top of these.

Reformation

50% off

50% off holds — but the rail keeps emptying

Roughly 3,400 items across dresses, tops, sweaters, denim and shoes — down from about 4,100 a week ago and 4,945 the Sunday before. No code and no stated end date

Our take

The discount has not moved in over a week; the inventory has, and steadily — this is the back third of a summer clearance, and the middle of every size run goes first. Reformation almost never cuts past half off, so this is the floor rather than a step toward 60%. If you saw something ten days ago, it is worth checking whether your size is still there rather than waiting for a deeper number that this brand rarely reaches.

Athleta

Up to 60% off

Sale — priced as marked, no code

Around 1,480 sale pieces, most of them 30–40% off and priced as marked — the Mesh Racer Run Short $55 → $38.50, the Momentum Seamless Tee $59 → $35.40 — with deeper cuts scattered through. No code

Our take

The one activewear pick, and it earns the slot because the discount is on the tag rather than behind a code: what you see is what you pay. Most of the section sits at 30–40%, so sort by discount if you want the deeper end. Current-season colours are in the mix here, which is unusual for a markdown this size — Athleta clears its own seasons rather than dumping only leftovers.

Boden

Up to 60% off

Up to 60% off the womens sale

Womens sale marked down to 60% off at the deepest, no code needed on the markdowns themselves. No stated end date

Our take

The quiet one on this page, and the reason it earns a place: Boden’s prints do not turn up in anyone else’s clearance, so the comparison is against full price rather than against the rest of this list. Skip the new-season code teaser at the top — it is a nudge, not a deal — and spend the attention on the 60% rail.
