Monday was the end of a run of promo codes, and almost all of them expired within about 48 hours of each other: J.Crew’s extra 60% off clearance died Monday night, Madewell’s 30% wear-now code went with it on Tuesday morning. So this is a mid-week edition rather than the usual Monday one, because leaving expired codes at the top of the page for four more days would be worse than publishing off-schedule. It also makes for an unusual week: not one of the seven sales below needs a code. Every price here is already on the tag, which means nothing to remember at checkout and nothing to expire underneath you. Anniversary Sale prices reverted to full retail on Monday, so the value has moved to the clearance racks. None of these links earn us anything. Our take
This is the payoff of the calendar we flagged on Monday. Anniversary Sale leftovers and returns are landing here now, and the top of the page is running past 90% off — deeper than anything we have seen since we started publishing. The catch is the usual one: the very deepest markdowns are the odd sizes. Check the cart price rather than the tag, because the Clear the Rack badge does not apply to everything.

Our take
We left Abercrombie out on Monday because the denim event everyone was reporting could not be found on Abercrombie’s own site. This is the part that is actually there, and it is better than the version we could not confirm: the clearance jeans are down near a third of list, with no code to chase. Their denim comes in several inseam lengths, which is the reason to buy theirs on sale rather than whatever is cheapest.

Our take
We told you on Monday to wait on this one, and that still stands — but with a caveat we did not have then. We have now checked the page twice, three days apart, and the ceiling has not moved off 70%. The end-of-summer cut usually lands in the last week or two of August, so there is probably one more step down coming. If your size is the last one on the page, that is the only reason to move now.

A smaller headline than the 30% code that expired on Tuesday, and a more useful one. Twelve dollars for a Northside Vintage tee is close to the lowest these go, the discount is applied for you rather than typed in, and it is not tied to a date the way this week’s dead codes were. Buy the three-pack or skip it — at two, you are paying full price for basics.

Our take
Aritzia discounts less often and less deeply than anyone else on this list, which is exactly why the 60–70% tier is worth a look while it exists. Go straight to that tier rather than browsing the whole sale — the shallower ones are the usual 20% that runs most of the year, and the gap between the two is the entire point.

Our take
Reformation is the brand people describe other dresses by, so a flat 30% across almost three thousand pieces is the sale most likely to end this particular hunt. It is a shallower cut than the clearance racks above, but it is on current-season stock rather than leftovers, and their linen and the cashmere are where the discount actually bites.

Our take
The deepest tier on this page beats anything here except the Rack, and unlike the Rack it is one brand in consistent sizing, so you are not relearning a fit with every item. Treat the 80% tier as the reason to visit and the 30%-off-top-sellers banner as a distraction: it is the newest stock at the shallowest discount.
