The Anniversary Sale closed last night, and with it the one week a year Nordstrom marks down new-season stock instead of leftovers. That leaves an awkward fortnight: summer is being cleared out at 60–70% off, fall is arriving at full price, and not much in between deserves your money. Four sales made the cut this week — three to act on and one to sit on. A fifth, a widely reported Abercrombie denim event, is not here: we could not find it on Abercrombie’s own promotions page, and we do not print a code we cannot stand behind. Thirty percent is a smaller number than the clearance racks are showing this week, and that is the point — it applies to pieces that will still be in rotation in October rather than to the last of the linen. If you qualify for the student or teacher discount, compare the two before you check out; they are separate offers.

Our take
This is the interesting part of the calendar. Anniversary Sale returns and unsold stock filter down to the Rack over the weeks after the sale closes, so this section gets better through late August rather than worse. The deepest markdowns on the page today run past 85%, but they are the odd sizes — the useful habit here is a two-minute look every few days rather than one long browse.

We are including this one to tell you not to buy yet. Everlane keeps a sale section up year-round, but their end-of-summer cut lands in the last week or two of August and goes deeper than anything on the site today. Unless the piece you want is down to its last size, bookmark it.
